The World Health Congress runs a bunch of interesting stuff.  Next week we’ll be speaking at the Employer Health & Human Capital Congress in Washington, D.C., keynoting a session on using the web and social networking forums to drive employee engagment and loyalty.

So what is this thing about, who goes and why?

Well a few hundred employers that are really interested in keeping their folks health and happy pack a house, employers like GoogleWhirlpool, Ford, Owens Corning, DuPont, Black and Decker, Goodyear, IBM and the like.

And then there are the folks sponsoring it, folks like The Wall Street Journal, The American Cancer Society, J.P. Morgan, HMC, Healthways and Pfizer.

Then there are the speakers, folks like Terry McAullife (former Democratic National Committee Chair) and Kelly Traver (Chief Medical Officer of Google), Roy Schoenberg (CEO of American Well), and benefit directors and employee health folks of big employers — and Eliza (hip, hip hooray).

What to look for?  Well the economy is rough, budgets are getting cut and so doesn’t it make sense to pare back the stuff that goes into making the folks you work with healthy and happy?

Actually, we think it’s more important now more than ever to have healthy and happy employees, not just to keep health costs down but to help you really crank at the core stuff you do best. If you can do both, you gain significant competitive advantage. Now’s the time in the race where you can pull away from the pack!

Of course you have to be smart.  Money’s tight, you need to optimize and have some magic pixie dust to really wow folks!

So if you’re in town, swing by — and if you’re not think about it — we’d love to have you share in a healthy discussion.
